Privacy policy

The short version

Captions Guruji has no accounts, no sign-up form, no payment processing and no advertising network. We do not want your personal information and we have built the site so that we mostly never receive any. What little we do handle is described below, in the terms Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) uses.

What is stored in your browser

Two things, both kept on your own device in localStorage, both readable only by this site, and neither transmitted to us:

• Your age confirmation (cg_age_ok) — so the age gate does not reappear on every page.
• Nothing else by default. Coin balances live in memory for the length of a session and disappear when you close the tab.

Clearing your browser's site data erases both immediately. There is nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was sent.

What our server records

Like essentially every website, our web server keeps standard access logs: IP address, timestamp, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. These are used to keep the site up, to size it correctly and to spot abuse or attacks. They are not used to build a profile of you, are not linked to any identity, are not sold or shared for marketing, and are discarded on a rolling basis.

What we do not do

• No accounts, no passwords, no email lists, no newsletters.
• No payment data of any kind — there is nothing to buy here.
• No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site tracking.
• No sale, rental or trade of personal information. Ever, to anyone.
• No collection of information from anyone we know to be under the legal age.

Third parties

The games are entirely self-contained: no external scripts, no embedded players, no font or image CDNs. Our hosting and network providers process traffic on our behalf under their own security obligations. Outbound links (for example to helpline services) lead to organisations with their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Children

Captions Guruji is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, contact us and we will erase whatever we hold.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Given the design of this site the honest answer is usually “a line in a server log” — but ask, and we will check and tell you. Requests go through the contact page. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
